A very much anticipated vacation has finally arrived! Lake Powell. Having planned for over a year, we were ready to get the show on the road! And here is what we documented!
We left the marina with sunny skies and good spirits... after about a couple hours we noticed we were being followed by some not so friendly rain clouds! Nevertheless, we sent the men out ahead to find our beach front parking spot for the house boat. Things were still looking gloomy when all of a sudden.... thunder, lighting and RAIN! Those poor guys out on the jet skis! Getting soaked with every rain drop!
We were getting passed up by other house boats. We were towing two boats and two jet skis, which made us move so much slower through the water. In the end it didn't matter, we still found the perfect beach spot!
First things first, unload the crew. Relax, we made it! Covered in rain and all but arrived with big smiles! Nolan set off to make a fire to warm us up, while the rest of us did a little exploring!
We were beached for the entire 7 days, so we had plenty of time to explore our home away from home. Here is Nolan and Brett on the edge of a small canyon just around the corner from our beach area. The water was so beautiful and warm!
Here is Bren wake boarding...
Another adventure we experienced was this amazing hike at the end of one of the canyons! We parked the boat, all climbed out and headed up stream. It was warned that we should be careful of flash floods, so if it started to rain, we should be well on our way OUT! This was by far one of my favorite days!
We all decided to go barefoot because the red water would have stained our shoes/flip-flops.
We saw signs of beavers EVERYWHERE!
Brett and Brenna in the distance swimming in a deep part of the mucky stream. FUN!
A little cliff jumping had to be had. But we made it short and sweet because.... you guessed it, it started to rain!!
We took the boat out to rainbow bridge one day, we didn't hike up to see it, so I don't have a picture to show you. But just imagine a big rock shaped like a rainbow and you might feel satisfied. ;) We left there to head over to the dangling rope marina where we would gas up and eat some ice cream. Well little did we know we were heading right for a huge thunder storm! Sure enough, it started raining and with little to no shelter we all huddle together to keep as dry as we could.
Once we got to the marina we all rushed into the small store, got us some ice cream and waited out the storm.

Seven days went by so fast, but we are happy to say that nobody got hurt and we all had a great time! Of course I can't leave you with out telling about the one little hiccup in our trip, and it happened at the very very end. Driving home Matt spotted a flat tire on the boat trailer, we pulled over to find the tire shredded!! Good thing Matt's got eagle eyes and noticed it before it got to bad! We fixed it lickety-split and were home bound.

Great commentary, pictures, and videos! Especially the quick sand one ;) Lake Powell was definitely an amazing trip!
