Beach Camping

After working long hours for weeks and weeks, plus dealing with such an opposite schedule, Matt and I finally had a chance to relax on our weekend off. We drove up to Carlsbad for a little beach camping! This is actually the first time I have ever done this and what a great time it was. Especially having our friends Breanna and Jordan join us. Oh and we mustn't forget Clara their little one year old! She is so stinkin' cute! What a character she is, so silly and goofy! She's learning to talk and loves to repeat things you say. She now knows who Matt and I are by name. We tried to teach her to call me Neenee, and she was dang close, but to her I'm Mee mee. She got Matt though, he's easy. So every time she would see us, she'd look up and say "mee mee? matt?" It was so adorable, almost like she was proud of herself for remembering our names, and practicing would maker it easier to remember next time... mee mee... matt? Yep Clair bear, that's us!

The first day we got up there we set up camp and hurried down to the water to enjoy the rest of the sun that day. Jordan cooked up some delicious dinner and we all scarfed it down with a little camp fire and s'mores to finish us off! I love sitting around the camp fire, it's so cozy and there is always a great conversation to be had.

Day two started out cloudy, but we were confident that the marine layer would blow off later into the morning. We made some yummy blueberry pancakes and sat around the fire waiting for our breakfast to settle. Clara went down for a nap and we waited for the sun. Clara woke up from her nap and we waited for the sun. Kelly was on her way down from Ramona to come hang out for the afternoon and said it was over 90 degrees there, and we continued waiting for the sun! Well, we didn't want to waste the day, so we packed up some lunch along with some snacks and headed down to the beach with jackets and blankets in hand. We had a great time, although it was chilly willy!

Clara spotted my chapstick and had to have some. Breanna said she's been obsessed with her chapstick for a while now. She loves it so much that if you take it away from her after she's applied it for the twentieth time she gets so sad.
Day three: Sun. Thank you thank you! We packed up on the third day, and drove up to a sandier beach where we all could relax and play!

We had such a good time! Thanks for coming Breanna and Jordan. We're blessed to have friends like you two!
