A Trip Down to San Felipe

This past week, we had the opportunity to join some friends and drive down to San Felipe, Mexico!  The drive wasn’t to bad, and Elora was an angel for the most part!  We got to the house we stayed at, and it was absolutely beautiful!  Four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a huge kitchen dinning area and family room.  The patio was wonderful, and the view was indescribable!  We had the whole beach to ourselves...  and I’m not exaggerating... there really was no other person there besides the guy who watches over the property.  White sand beaches and the Sea of Cortez all for our eyes only!  Elora swam in the ocean for the fist time, and she LOVED it!  The water was 80 degrees at least!  She just splashed around slapping the water with her hands.  Matt was able to go deep sea fishing with his good friends Neil and Drew.  We stopped by “The Valley of the Giants” where we saw 75 foot cacti, and made our way to the city of San Felipe a few times for shopping and dinner.  We celebrated my birthday down there, and just enjoyed some nice time away from home.  We had a lot of fun....  the only thing I have to complain about was the heat!  It was so hot and there was only one room in the house that had air conditioning, so every night we all slept with windows and doors open with fans going non-stop.  Poor Elora was so hot in her pack-n-play she kept waking up all hours of the night... needless to say, Matt and I got no sleep.  We ended up leaving a couple days early because it was just to hard with Elora and no sleep.  One last thing, we decided to bring Dundee along with us, and we were so glad we did... except the poor dog ran his heart out along the beach and in the water the first day that he tore his paws up.  The remainder of the vacation we tried to keep him away from the hot sand and rocky shore.  :(  Dundee’s heaven and he enjoyed it for only one day.  Next time we will have booties for him... or something!
